First, I should point out that I’m an acousticophile. For those who think this is a fetish nearly everyone has, I can confidently say that that simply isn’t the case. Sure, a lot of women seem to prefer a deep voice, and a number of people find certain accents sexy, but the way I see it, little things like that are not synonymous with full-fledged acousticophilia. To me, acousticophilia means that certain sounds are necessary or almost necessary in order to “finish.” Seeing as this seems to be pretty rare and information seems to be pretty limited, I hope someone finds it helpful to read an explanation from an actual acousticophile.
