My favorite inexpensive nipple clamps are bodkins whose actual purpose is to pull elastic, ribbon, etc through a casing in a sewing project. They make a tweezers style one that looks eerily similar to commercial tweezers style nipple clamps. The bodkins have little “teeth” on them (for grippping) so you can get some bite out of them. There are also several solutions that I have tried if you don’t want the bite or want a set without bite: wrap teeth part in medical tape, use a dremmel or sandpaper to grind the teeth and rough edges down and dipping them in Plasti dip.
